Back Beach, Rockport Ma

Home » East Coast Divers Brookline, Massachusetts. Where Boston divers come together. » Local Diving » Back Beach, Rockport Ma

Back Beach is one of the more protected dive sites on the north shore. Because of this it is possibly the most popular place for diver training. Parking is by the meter which makes it easy and there are bathrooms on site but nice weekends are always very busy. Another reason for the popularity of this site is it’s ease. Every aspect of this dive is as easy as possible. It is a perfect site for new divers.

DIVE DESCRIPTION: This is a fairly basic dive but it’s good if you’re looking for a nice easy site or if other sites get blown out. You can head in almost any direction but you’ll never get deeper than 30 to 40 feet max. It’s fun to head to the island or maybe a bit to the right of it. The spot is pretty picked over for lobsters but there are some big ones that are fun to see.

PARKING: Parking is easy as long as there are open spots. The good news is if it’s packed there are other sites very close that are just as easy and have similar exposure.
