Equipment Service

Home » East Coast Divers Brookline, Massachusetts. Where Boston divers come together. » Dive Center Services » Equipment Service

All equipment purchased through ECD is subject to $5 OFF the service fee per piece.
(i.e. 1st stage, second stage, computer, BC, etc…)

Here at East Coast Divers we understand the importance of your equipment performing as expected. Scuba diving may be a recreational activity but it still relies on life support equipment. As divers we like to know that the equipment that keeps us alive keeps on working. Our repair department collectively has over 50 years of experience servicing thousands of regulators with experience in over a dozen different brands.

We offer an array of services catered to the needs of you and your equipment. We service most major brands. From factory warranted battery changes, regulator and BC service to annual inspections and mid season checks, we offer a higher level of care. Check out what separates East Coast from the rest.

East Coast Divers regulator services:

Performance Check: Not all regulators always need a full service. Regulators today are made with parts that can withstand dozens of dives and at times a couple years of use with the proper care and maintenance. Because of this we developed our 8 point diagnostic performance check. We check the 8 key points of a regulator to verify it’s unwavering ability to function at its peak performance. This saves you time, money and keeps you in the water safely. If a regulator were to not pass performance check it would be automatically entered into the full service program. Regulators will only be accepted into the performance check program at the technicians digression.
Cost:$ 40.00

Full Service: Some regulators don’t always receive the general care and maintenance they need. When a regulator isn’t functioning properly or has a certain amount of dives or enough time between servicing we may recommend a full service. During a full service your entire regulator will be disassembled, cleaned and all the over used parts will be replaced with new, updated, lubricated replacement parts. Hoses will be cleaned and serviced as well as S.P.G.’s. Unfortunately we can not overhaul only certain portions of a regulator unit. All the pieces must be tuned to work together and that is the only way we can ensure proper performance.
Cost: $30 per stage + parts

East Coast Divers BC service:

BC Flush: Is your BC leaking or having trouble holding air? BC’s are very susceptible to saltwater and all the valves must be routinely cleaned after each use. If any of the valves are overlooked leaks will pop up after only a few years. in the event of Salt water build up we can do a full BC flush for you. this will keep all your valve performing like new.
Cost: $20

BC Sonic Clean: If you find your BC inflating itself automatically you may need to have your inflator sonically cleaned and rebuilt. We can dissasemble and clean the corrosion off most bc inflators and get them working like new again. We also do a BC Flush during this service to be sure everything is clear of any salt deposits which are common if inflators are corroded.
Cost: $30 + parts

East Coast Divers computer service:

Battery Change: We are manufacturer certified to replace Suunto,  Sherwood, Genesis, Oceanic and Aeris  batteries just to name a few. We have experience changing thousands of batteries and have most in stock. We can even change most in as little as 5 minutes. If your computer needs to be serviced by the manufacturer we’d be happy to send it in for you. All Shipping and handling fees as well as warranted services are free for any piece of equipment purchased with us.
Cost: $15 + parts

Computer Depth Test: We have an in house pressure pot capable of diving most dive instruments to depths in excess of 100 feet here in the safety of the store.
Cost: $15

East Coast Divers tank service:

Tank fills: Our fills are as cold and high as any dive shop in the area! Our six whip fill panel allows us to fill quickly while keeping temperature down and 3 din adapters plus a water bath keeps the HP steel cylinders happy.
Cost: $8 per fill / $60 for ten fills

*All tanks must be in current hydro and dive center endorsed VIP*

Visual Inspections: All scuba cylinders must be visually inspected annually at a minimum for filling at East Coast Divers. We accept any visual sticker endorsed by any dive shop. If you need a visual on your cylinder feel free to bring it in. We can often have it done for you the next day. If you bring it in empty we may even be able to do it for you while you wait!
Cost: $10

Hydro Inspection: All scuba cylinders must be hydrostatically inspected every five years. We send our cylinders out for  inspections, because of this we have little control over the amount of time it takes. Expect the tank to be out of service for 2 – 4 weeks. If the tank passes, it will be returned with a DOT certified stamp and visual inspection sticker.
Cost: $45
