Tighten you navigation skills and raise treasure.
This course is designed for divers looking to expand their navigation skills both with a compass and line navigation. These techniques are optimal for search procedures. Six specific search techniques will be discussed and practiced to always have the best search to use in any situation. Recovery tools will also be reviewed including proper line handling techniques and how to choose the right reel for the job. Lift bags are the general tool of the trade to bring objects to the surface that are too heavy to safely lift on your own. We have a large assortment of lift bags to discuss selection attachment and lifting techniques. For the final evaluation you will perform the different searches in the water as you navigate between different checkpoints until you find the last item that will need to be lifted to the surface using the lift bag techniques discussed in class.
Prerequisites:
- Be open water certified.
- Must have a clear medical history (medical statement) or doctor sign off.
This course includes:
- Use of all specialty gear (dive gear not included).
- One classroom session.
- Two dives in open water performing searches.
- Search & Recovery books and materials.
- Internationally recognized cert card.
