 Ditch the tank.

The Freediving program at East Coast Divers was developed by Performance Freediving International and is the only Freediving program of this caliber currently being taught in the North East.

 If you enjoy Freediving or just want to take your snorkeling to the next level then this program may be for you. During the course you will learn rescue and safety techniques that will allow you to stay safe while partaking in what is considered to be the purest form of diving. You will also learn advanced breathing and in water technique to make your diving effortless and efficient.

Prerequisites:

  • Be able to swim 100yrds.
  • Be able to tread water for 5 minutes.
  • Be at least 10 years of age.
  • Provide fitted mask, fins and snorkel.
  • Must have a clear medical history (medical statement) or doctor sign off.

 

 

 

 

Pool & class course includes:

  • Equipment.
  • Physiology.
  • Nutrition
  • Proper stretching for freediving
  • Proper breathing.
  • Post dive recovery.
  • Black out and loss of motor control theory and safety.
  • Static apnea performance and safety.
  • Dynamic apnea performance and safety.
  • Constant ballast performance and safety.
  • Student materials.
  • 1:6 instructor to student ratios.
  • three class & three pool sessions.

 

POOL & CLASS COST: $300

 

 

Open water training course includes:

  • One day open water instruction.
  • In water safety and rescue
  • Target dives up to 66ft/20m
  • 3-4 hours of dive time.
  • 1:4 instructor to student ratios.
  • Certification card. 

 

 

OPEN WATER COST: $125

 

 

Schedule: 

The course is set up over 3 Sundays. Each Sunday consists of a 2 hour classroom session followed by a 2 hour pool session. Upon completion of the class and pool sessions you will complete one day of depth training at an open water location to finish the program.

Classroom and pool sessions

February Class: 12th, 19th & 26th

April Class: 1st, 15th & 22nd

June Class: 3rd, 17th & 24th

August Class: 12th, 19th & 26th

October Class: 14th, 21st & 28th

All class session start at 2:00pm at East Coast Divers

All pool sessions start at 5:15pm at the Walter Brown Arena, 285 Babcock St.

Open Water Dives

May 26th, June 30th, July 21st, September 8th & 22nd
