The Basic Open Water scuba certification course is a 3 part program. Classroom, pool and openwater work are all required to obtain certification. Through East Coast we believe that going over the material once and then sending you out in the big scuba world won't properly prepare you for your diving adventures. That's why we use a combination of home study and in class training to give you the most complete training possible. First you will complete the FREE SSI on-line training. After that is complete you can begin your classroom and pool training with either our Flex program or Weekend course. For this program you are required to own your own mask, snorkel, and Scuba fins (which usually require booties). This equipment is personally fit to you and will directly affect your diving experience. All gear can be purchased at East Coast Divers ensuring a proper fit.

Next you will complete your openwater dives to finish your certification. These can be done here through us during the spring, summer and fall or at any other dive center, perhaps in warmer water. The openwater dives can be anywhere from 4 to 6 dives that are usually spread between 2 days of training. Here at East Coast you will complete 5 scuba dives over 2 days to complete your certification.
