Refine your skills by learning new techniques

There are many different specialties you can learn as a scuba diver. It just depends on what your interested in. Whether it be lobstering, deep diving, advanced navigation, boat diving, wreck diving or any of the other specialties we offer, it should be you that chooses what subject you'd like to learn. Most advanced courses will tell you what 4 specialties you have to take. Here at East Coast we believe that you should be able to choose the classes that you want to take. Our only rule is that deep diving must be included because all advanced certifications include this specialty. This way of training allows you to piece together your training in a way that makes sense for you. Just take a look at our wet and dry specialties.

We also believe that taking classes is not the only requirement to become a better diver. There is another very important piece missing... experience! A diver needs to dive to progress their skills in order to earn an advanced certification. This is why here at East Coast we require that a diver have a minimum of 24 logged dives before they can apply for an advanced certification.

Once you are certified in 4 different wet specialties and log at least 24 dives, you get your advanced certification... FREE.

This approach to advanced training give you a lot more options. First, this set up requires less dedication of time, money and effort in one shot, as opposed to having to take 4 specialties at once. Next you don't have to take unnecessary specialties. Just pick and choose from our extensive list of options.
